Serving the youth & single mothers throughout the community!
Christmas Toy Drive & Giveaway
Putting smiles on children’s faces this Christmas Seasons!
We are a faith-based organization offering non-religious public services to youth & single mothers in Ypsilanti & surrounding communities in Washtenaw County.
The programs Love of Christ World Ministries offer initiatives that will address a spectrum of needs
Here's a brief overview of the benefits and potential impact:
1. Holistic Approach: By addressing educational, recreational, emotional, and practical needs, the project showcases a well-rounded approach to community support.
2. Emphasis on Education: Partnering with renowned local universities enhances credibility and promises quality. Offering scholarships further encourages academic aspirations among young residents.
3. Support for Vulnerable Populations: With specific services for youth, women, and seniors, the project ensures that some of the most vulnerable populations have the support they need.
4. Promotion of Physical and Mental Health: Recreational activities and mental health support work in tandem to ensure both physical and mental well-being. Such provisions are crucial, especially considering the lingering effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
5. Arts as a Unifying Tool: Arts play a transformative role in bringing communities together. By offering a platform for residents to showcase their talents, the project not only nurtures creativity but also strengthens community bonds.
6. Empowerment through Technology: Computer labs will not only support educational needs but will also bridge the digital divide, which is essential in today's tech-driven age.
7. Community Solidarity: The multipurpose spaces and resources like food and clothing banks are not just amenities but also symbols of community solidarity, showcasing that the community stands together in times of need.
8. Safe Spaces: We prioritize creating an environment where everyone feels safe, valued, and heard.
Our founder, Neil Frye, has deep roots in serving the community, a legacy he inherited from his father, Tommie Frye. Neil has dedicated over 13 years to mentoring and volunteering with youth at the Washtenaw County Juvenile Detention Center. His commitment extends beyond the detention center, as he consistently follows up with the children once they return to the community. This shows his unwavering dedication to supporting and guiding young individuals during and after their time at the center.
Tommie Frye, Neil's father, has been a cornerstone of the Ypsilanti community, contributing significantly in numerous ways. A notable project was his effort to save the Parkridge Community Center. When the City of Ypsilanti was facing financial challenges and considered closing the center, Mr. Frye stepped in. He invested his own funds to keep the center operational and sought additional resources and partnerships through his nonprofit organization, SOAR Inc.
In this endeavor, Tommie Frye collaborated with John Barfield, a local businessman and Ypsilanti native. Together, they sought grants, donations, and other forms of funding. Their joint efforts have ensured that the center remains open and continues to thrive to this day.
It's All About Love! Our love for youth has inspired us to partner with fathers to develop a youth basketball league.
Terrance Carlton, league developer and founder of Ball Hard All-Stars, has teamed up with Love of Christ World Ministries (LOCWM) to help youth in the Ypsilanti community and surrounding areas stay active and be surrounded by positive role models.
Many fathers have joined this effort, and together, we have raised funds to give underprivileged kids the opportunity to participate in a youth basketball league at no cost. During the summer months, when school is out, these kids need to stay engaged in productive activities. That’s exactly what Coach Terrance Carlton, along with many volunteer dads, moms, and LOCWM, is committed to providing.
